Hi! I am normally on DonorsChoose hoping to add items to my classroom for my students. Thank you so much for all of your support. - Today, I wanted to create this project for my students on the basketball team.
This group is a team that has become family.
Every day the team checks in. They come for homeroom, they peek in to say hi, they offer to help staff members around the building, they stay late at night for homework (video games and spaghetti dinners). I see them working hard in classes, knowing that academics are necessary. I see them in the hallways, joking, laughing, moving together - but also acting as role models to the other students.
They won first place in a local neighborhood basketball league and now they are ready to take on the city!
Our school is a mix of students from all different places - that have landed in Southie. I want this team to succeed on and off the court this year. I appreciate your support and I know they do too. Come see a game!

My Project
These Gatorade supplies will go straight to the students on the basketball teams. It is important to keep students hydrated so they are focused - not only on the court - but also before/after the game. I asked for holders, bottles, and towels. (Note: I'm not the one washing them! Ha ha!)

I promise you that these items will be used at the practices and the games. The season starts next Friday and it's a tough one! I think it would be a great morale/mood booster by surprising them with these gifts.
