My students need a classroom library that has a number of books to choose from that are interesting and engaging. These include Harry Potter, Because of Winn-Dixie and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
I am desperately seeking books for my classroom library. Right now my classroom library is very skimpy and there are not many interesting books for the students to choose from.
Approximately 50% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
We are in a district where some schools have a 90% poverty level. Because of this, our school gets much less financial resources than some of the other schools and my classroom library is severely lacking in books. Most of the books in the library are old and unappealing to the students. I am looking to add some fun and interesting new books to excite the students.
My Project
With new books, my students will be excited and proud about their classroom library. They will be able to sustain their reading for a good length of time and continue to increase their reading levels. I want them to have a passion for reading and great books will help them feed that passion!
Not all of my students have great books at home so I want to make sure they are exposed to wonderful literature in school.
There is nothing better than a student who finds a book they love and don't want to put down. Please help my students find their passion in reading by fattening their classroom library!
