My Students

My students come from low income families. They do not have many opportunities to experience all that the world has to offer them. It is my job as their teacher to teach them reading and social studies, but also to expose them to the different things that the world has to offer them.

They need to know that there is more out there than just what is in their neighborhood.

I want them to be curious learners, always seeking new and different experiences.

My Project

My school's soccer team is growing and improving every year. This is the first year of coaching girls for me. Two years ago, the school didn't have enough girls to have a team. Last year, they had just enough to have a team and this year, I had 41 girls come to tryouts.

I am so excited for the possibilities of this team, but we need equipment like scrimmage jerseys, cones, ladders, and a ball pump to be able to train to be the best team we can possibly be.

I am so excited for the lessons that these girls will learn both on and off the field.
