My Students

My school is a Title I school with 2/3 of our population qualifying for free or reduced price lunch. My students are enthusiastic learners who Love hands on activities and thinking outside of the box. Unfortunately, many of them do not have everything they need to jump into learning each morning.

I want to create an environment for my students that is highly engaging, comfortable, and fun for my students in which to learn.

I hope to teach them to dream big and imagine better for, as JK Rowling said, "We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.”

My Project

My students often do not have all of the supplies that they need to be successful learners. My students need colored pens, composition notebooks, Post-It Notes, and fun shaped sticky notes to help them to create beautifully artistic Science interactive notebooks and build their STEAM learning.

We want to build brain bridges to connect our artistic creative brains with our analytical science minds!

My students are going to use their new colored pens, composition notebooks, Post-It Notes, and fun shaped sticky notes to build interactive notebooks and create Sketchnotes--notes that use colors, shapes, and drawings to build understanding. The goal is to use the arts to help build science knowledge and foster a STEAM learning environment that my students can use to grow their brain connections!
