I work suburban school with a very diverse population. We have over 1,400 students who come to us with varied backgrounds. So many of our teens struggle with anxiety and stress because of peer pressure, social media, and just the typical growing pains that goes along with the age.
I want to provide sketch books, journals and writing utensils for my students that would be a health coping skill they can utilize when they are feeling anxious or stressed.
This would be a healthy tool for my students to use when needed.

Writing in journals and sketching can be a very calming technique when someone is stressed or anxious.
A lot of my students enjoy writing and drawing as a way to express themselves. Unfortunately, these are often expensive and their families have limited resources to provide for them.
Learning appropriate coping skills are crucial for our teens as they transition to adulthood and into life. These materials would be one way for our students to express themselves in a more healthy way.
