I have the pleasure of teaching art to some of the most creative PreK to second grade scholars in St. Paul. They love to use their creative minds in all that they do and I am learning from these amazing children every day. We work together to support each other's strengths and talents and allow them to shine in our classroom. Our school is very diverse and takes pride in welcoming and engaging all scholars and families. We are committed to creating a school family where kids feel safe, loved, and connected.
As a school, we take pride in creating an environment where we celebrate diversity and "inspire all scholars to reach high levels of social and academic achievement and to become future leaders through a collaborative system of support" (our school's mission statement).
We recently began drawing and practicing sketching in our art class. My scholars love to draw and I would like to create their own sketch books to keep in art class. My hope is to teach new skills as well as create a positive art experience that connects to the lives and experiences of my scholars.
"Ms Parins this is my very best drawing I have ever done, ever." One of my scholars told me this the other day as we were drawing a cat step by step as a class.
The new folder will allow me to create sketchbooks for each of my first and second grade scholars. They can have all of their drawings in one place, see the progress they have made, and take pride in their work.
The twistable crayons and colored pencils will be perfect to add details and color to their pictures. The twistable feature will save time by not having to sharpen then. The scholars will always have sharp, nice ways to add color to their work!
