Kindergarten is a magical year- we explore who we are, how the world around us works, and ways of communicating ideas. There are usually about 25 young learners in my classroom, all of whom are unique and bring wildly different backgrounds and skills to Kindergarten. I work hard to make sure all of their needs are met each and every day; sometimes this work requires some special supplies that cannot be covered by classroom funds. That's where you come in!
This year, I want to implement flexible seating in my classroom! This means we won’t have any desks and students will do most of their work on the floor or other alternative seating location. This arrangement encourages open-ended thinking, self-regulation, and opportunities to learn and implement life skills. In order to do this effectively, I need a class set of sketch-boards!
The large size of the sketch-boards facilitates larger projects such as artwork, cooperative math investigations, and book design.
The boards will be used daily for centers, independent work, and games. You can help these kindergarteners become independent, engaged, open-minded learners by supporting this purchase!
