My Students

My classroom is a highly interactive classroom that requires attention to detail. My goal is to provide all my students with a basic understanding on a variety of health topics. I hope that this knowledge will assist them in making healthy choices and enhancing the overall quality of their lives.

My students are highly energized with aspirations of living long, healthy lives.

I want to be able to provide them with the tools that will help them focus that energy in a productive way. I teach in a low income district on Long Island, NY, with 43% of students receiving free or reduced price lunch. Sitting side by side in my classroom I have all different types of learners, from students who are typically in self contained classrooms to Honor students.

My Project

I am looking to revive this special unit that my students experience each and every year. We give our students the unique opportunity to take rollerblading as a unit during Physical Education. This course is taught by instructors who took special classes to ensure the safety of our students.

It is our priority to keep all our students safe while giving them unique experiences.

Besides the special courses taken by our educators, we rely on equipment to aid in ensuring our students safety. With thousands of students already impacted by this course it is necessary to upgrade our equipment. This upgrade will help make sure that we can provide this opportunity for the thousands of students we will teach in the future.
