My students are great in that they have a sense of inclusion that is paralleled by none. They are a diverse group that comes from all walks of life and find a common footing in video. My students, when challenged, come together while forgetting their differences in backgrounds and strive to meet the challenge.
We are the first middle school in our district to offer an Audio Video Film and Technology high school course.
My students come to my class with tons of energy. As I am their exploratory course, I want to funnel that energy into this digital project that will allow them to express themselves and be heard!
The television will be utilized in the classroom near the entrance to the lab. The content displayed will be student created work that will be put on a loop through the TVs Roku app.
Students will get to see their work come to life on the big screen while they are waiting to go into the lab or when getting their folder and materials for the day.
The TV creates a stage so to speak for the students to showcase to their other classmates what they have done. No longer is their hard created work banished to their computer to only be seen by themselves or their parents; now it can be showcased and further engage them in the projects.
