I could never have imagined how drastically education has been forced to change in the last six months. Digital learning has brought a whole new set of challenges for myself and my students. In spite of all these challenges we made it through stronger than we were before, and it has ultimately helped us to prepare for distance learning this fall.
My students are simply amazing, they are energetic, inquisitive, and thirsty for knowledge.
Although some of my students have outside challenges, they are hard workers and enthusiastic about learning. Your support allows me to meet the needs of my students, and in some cases, indulge the kids in knowing that they are loved, supported, and valued. Having creative materials allows the kids to learn about themselves and how they learn, creating small advocates for learning along the way! This year poses new challenges and I would be more than grateful to have your help in providing them with tools that will help my students stay motivated, excited, and willing to learn and grow!
My Project
I have used BrainPOP in the past and it is an amazing resource that helps make Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies lessons more engaging and fun for students. This subscription includes short, focused videos, quizzes and activities for the students to engage with. The children love to show their work on whiteboards while we meet virtually. My previous students loved Tim and Moby (the characters in BrainPOP Jr.), and I know how happy my sixth grade students would be to see them this year. Virtual learning has been a difficult adjustment for everyone involved. However, from experience, I know how fun and effective it can be. Using BrainPOP will definitely have a positive impact on my students' virtual learning experience.
