Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"So this is how it looks?", is a phrase often heard in my classroom. Also, one would find students engaged, interacting, discussing, and investigating. One might be SHOCKED to know that this is a struggling neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. These students are special because although their lives and surroundings can be difficult, they come to their home away from home, each day eager to learn.
Regardless of living in a low income area and attending a Title I school with all their meals provided, my babies/students deserve their chance to meet and succeed the huge learning gap of peers their age.
Poverty is a difficult cycle to break, but with all of our help their lives can be forever changed!
My Project
As a Title 1 school, our students come from many challenging backgrounds. To sit in one firm chair and desk for 8 hours without moving can make an already frustrated and exhausted student reach their limits! We need to provide safe, comfortable, and enriching environments to foster learning!
How many of you would be able to function sitting in one hard chair and desk all day?
We want each child to be able to control their own learning like BOSSES! Each child should be able to move and feel at home, at their home away from home! Please help me to provide a comfortable couch, chairs, and flex balls to allow my babies to feel ease when learning new skills!
