My students need flexible seating options for group work; these stools are prefect for that and easy to store when not in use.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Let me start off by saying I have the best group of 5th grade students a teacher could ask for! These 31 students care about each other, their community, and global issues. They are eager to learn, and once they know something they want to teach others and are always finding creative ways to do so - creating clubs, performing plays, giving google slides presentations, etc.. They are wonderful role models to the rest of the school, demonstrating daily what responsible students should say and do. I love to brag about my students every chance I get; although not everyone performs at grade level, yet everyone is trying and taking risks, and pushing themselves and encouraging their peers to do better every day! What more could a teacher ask for?
My Project
Students have taken it upon themselves to create a rotation chart for the equitable use of the only 2 stools we have in the classroom. They rotate amongst themselves to have access and use of the only flexible seating options we have because it is so vital to them.
Students do a lot of group work in class and traditional seats are very limiting for these types of interactions.
These new stools will allow for students to sit on the opposite side of a desk, or sit where there is not enough room for a traditional chair.
By supporting group work though the use of flexible seating options you will be fostering student dialogue, collaboration, and a greater sense of community in our classroom.
