My Students

My students are from lower-income families. Our school is close to becoming a Title 1 school in Oklahoma. Many of my kids are part of a food backpack program that comes to our school. My kids are eager to learn but with the amount of time they are asked to sit at a desk to listen and learn. They become lost in the lesson.

I want them to feel like my classroom is a safe and fun place to learn where they have some ownership in their learning.

My Project

My project would benefit 26 students in my classroom. With that many students in my classroom it is hard to find a place where they can be successful.

I would love to introduce flexible seating in my classroom.

If funded students would be allowed to choose a spot with a wiggle seat.

Tall metal stools would allow those children who need that extra sensory to be successful in the classroom. They currently just sit on the floor. The extra support would allow them to wiggle in their seat. I would love for my students to be able to make to choice as to what seating works best for them.
