Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with an amazing group of students every day who overcome everyday challenges to become incredible learners. My students come to school every day with such a contagious desire to learn. Throughout the year, we create resources that make us lifelong learners. We use interactive notebooks every day as a way to prepare students for the collegiate level. These students have proven time and time again that they are learners who are driven to learn and be successful. I get the opportunity to Impact my students for just a year of their school career, and I want to have the best impact on them that I can.

My Project

I strive to make my classroom a place where students feel comfortable and student-centered. I have several options for flexible seating and I am working to add more. When students enter the workforce for 21st-century jobs they will be in constant collaboration with each other. With the stools, it will allow students to sit in pods where it will allow them to work together. These stools will also help students determine what environment they need to learn independently. The environment is a small thing that makes a big difference these stools will help create an environment that will be successful for all learners. Meeting students need right where they are!
