We are a public school of close to 500 students in an urban community. Our students come from diverse backgrounds. We have a wide variety of cultures, languages and economics. We have almost 40% of our students receiving free and reduced-price lunches, 10% English Language Learners and 40% of our school is Ethically Diverse.
Our classroom is special because we have the opportunity to loop with our class.
This means that the Kindergarten group of students I have right now will become my First Grade class in the Fall. In our classroom, we have 22 students. These students are very enthusiastic about their learning in math, reading, writing, social studies and science.
My Project
These flower shaped tables will provide my students with many engaging and collaborative opportunities throughout our entire day. In math, they will be able to discuss and work together to solve problems. In literacy, students will be able to read together and create projects together. Students will also be able to create STEM activities better due to the shape of the table.
Through the use of the flower tables, students will be able to engage in conversations with a group, create projects together and compile their ideals.
The shape of the flower table allows students to collaborate throughout our day.
