My students are energetic, academic students who love to cook and help the school. They are eager to use technology in the classroom to help make their lives easier. The students love to take skills they learn from core classes and apply them to real-life projects posed to them in my classroom. The students are very creative and enjoy using problem-solving skills to create new food items and crafting items. Applying skills with technology and hands-on activities makes learning come to life!
My Project
I am requesting 6 sets of stackable stools to use at each of our kitchens tables. The students will be able to move around more since these stools take up less room than our traditional seats we have right now. I would also like students to be able to move around the room and utilize all parts of our classroom kitchens, so the yoga pads will help cushion the students to sit on the cold concrete floor. The 4 lap desks will allow students to collaborate with each other anywhere in the room. The last item that I would like to add to our classsroom is the game HedBandz. This game will allow students to learn cooking terminology in a fun and engaging way.
