This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching students to take charge of their learning is an important part of kindergarten. In our classroom, students are able to pick where and how they want to engage in their learning. To make the environment more motivating, accommodating, and comfortable it is important to offer seating that encourages them to remain engaged in their activities.

Providing flexible seating choices encourages students to also make the right choices which helps them develop social emotional skills like self-regulation.

Self-regulation is important skill to teach our students as they cope with the hardships and interrupted learning that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.
