My students need unique seating options that allow them to stay active when completing assignments and tasks. Many of my students struggle to sit still and these flexible seating options are perfect!
My students are often from low income neighborhoods and our school is high need Title 1 school, My students with special needs often struggle with being able to sit comfortably and to concentrate with long reading tasks and assignments.
Our school and district budgets have been drastically reduced and don't allow me the chance to purchase flexible seating options for my students with special needs.
My seventh grade students inspire me everyday with their willingness to give their best even though sometimes schoolwork can be a struggle.
My Project
These seating options (including bean bag chairs and swaying stools) will allow my 7th grade students to be more comfortable and increase their ability to stay focused and on task when they are completing their schoolwork.
It's incredibly difficult to see students who struggle daily with sitting still and forcing them to sit in chairs for long periods of time makes them uncomfortable and frustrated.
These seating options will help them control their ability to focus and concentrate on assignments. These students deserve every opportunity to be successful and our school is committed to finding what works for each student to meet their unique and special needs.
