My Students

My 27 amazing kindergartners have an extreme amount of love for learning that I have never seen before! They love reading, writing, and doing math.

My school is located in the heart of a great neighborhood in Philadelphia.

We are a Title I public school that lacks the funding and the necessary resources, but we make do with what we do have.

My students have the desire to acquire knowledge and be engaged in the learning process. My goal is to support this intrinsic motivation with hands-on opportunities.

My Project

Getting new chairs will allow my students to sit at my small group table. Daily, I pull my students for small group instruction in order to individualize instruction for my students. The chairs will allow my students to be able to sit at the U-shape comfortably.

In addition to the chairs, the ten frames, counters, and dice will allow my students to conceptualize their understanding of numbers.

They will be able to complete various math centers using the materials. My students love being at math centers, but the resources are lacking. Thus, being able to have the dice, ten frames, and counters will be able to be used in the math centers to better provide hands on learning.
