This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
As we strive to return to a natural classroom setting having a carpet for daily instruction is an important piece of the classroom. Many of our teacher purchased carpets had to be discarded at the start of the pandemic.
Floor space to spread out is vital in a primary classroom as students will utilize this carpet during lessons, activities and indoor play.
The design of the carpet will also be a tool to reinforce skills learned in kindergarten such as the alphabet, sounds and numbers. It will also help students with the current social distancing guidelines.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
