I teach at a model school that incorporates performing arts, visual arts, coding, computer science, financial literacy, and STEM (STEAM) within the curriculum. This urban school receives federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast and lunch for every student, and Title I services to socioeconomically disadvantaged boys and girls.
Students at my school include military families, gifted/talented, ESL/ELL and inclusion/special education students that are tech savvy.
As we try to prepare our students for college, the workforce, and a better life, we need to provide them with tools to make that happen. With your help, we can do that.
By having these comfortable seating cushions in my library media center, my students will have a much more pleasurable story-time. These seat cushions will allow my students to have their own personal space and their attention will be focused on the story rather than being uncomfortable.
Students can focus on listening and be more attentive because they will have their own personal seat provided for them.
These seats will provide my students much more opportunity to listen closely as I engage them with different genres. Students with their own personal space are less likely to become distracted and can dive deeper into stories as they are being read to!
