Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is situated in a low economic area. Our students include those from military families, as we serve the local Marine base nearby, second-language learners, along with students from migratory families. All of our children receive free or reduced lunch.
Despite their many differences and backgrounds, the students at Palmcroft continue to be motivated to learn and do their best.
I'm hoping this project will help me further the endeavor by creating an inspirational learning environment that students look forward to being a part of every day.
My Project
If this project is fully funded I will be able to begin to create a learning environment designed for students who learn in various ways. Some of us do our best learning while standing, sitting on the floor, or in a traditional chair. My hope is to have these options available in my classroom.
While in collaborative groups or independent study, students will be able to use the round tables to place their tablet on instead of the floor.
Students can also enjoy some quiet independent reading time on the storage bench and wouldn't be nice to have additional seating options besides a chair?!
