Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Everyone knows how nice it is to sit back, kick up your feet, read a book, and relax. My wonderful third grade students deserve that positive experience in school. My 28 low income students have wonderful books at their fingertips, thanks to other grants that I have received, but do not have a cozy place to read. My students have been asking me if they can read somewhere other than at their desks. Unfortunately my response has been "no," as I do not have an appropriate comfortable reading area. I am hoping to receive this grant so my readers can sit against the pillows as they engage themselves in books. The bright colors of the pillows will be cheery and the washable pillow case will be easy to maintain cleanliness. I will assign 5 students per day to read with the pillows and it will be an exciting reason for the student to come to school that day. Please help to make reading an enjoyable experience for my deserving students.
