Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach some amazing 4th graders. Most of them come from low-income homes and face more life challenges than a regular 9 year old should ever deal with at such a tender age. Whether it's my ESL, SPED, or general ed. student, they all are eager to learn, and each deserve a fun, inviting place to do it!
Getting students excited about learning is the key to success!
When fun is taking place, kids forget they're learning and make connections to their reading. Flexible seating options will allow my students to not only learn but to also enjoy reading for pleasure.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to get excited about learning! Students will become more motivated and engaged in learning when they have seating they are excited about. The clipboards will allow my students to write in any area of the classroom. Kids love getting out of their assigned desk, so allowing the students to venture out in the room will surely encourage successful writing. I envision my classroom full of students who are eager to read and write because of these new, exciting options.
I want my classroom to feel like home to my 4th graders.
Flexible seating will encourage reading and writing because it makes learning FUN! Who doesn’t love reading in a big, comfortable bean bag chair? I know my students will be begging to read daily!
