Mrs. Basile from Indianapolis IN is requesting Reading Nooks, Desks & Storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a place to store their supplies while working at our tables, and they need a comfortable place to sit while we have our classroom meetings.
My students face a lot of challenges, not only academically, but personally and socially as well. They are original thinkers and enjoy hands on learning and activities with movement.
Our public elementary school in Indianapolis faces the daily challenge of educating and motivating students that live well within the poverty level.
Our students are very active learners. They love when we have flexible seating options and choice of tasks within their daily routine. They work best in a flexible, yet structured, environment.
We have a collaborative classroom environment. The students sit at tables instead of desks in order to work together on math and science projects. I am part of a wonderful teaching team and teach two classrooms of fourth graders each day. Finding a place for students to store their workbooks and folders has been a challlenge with tables. The mail sorter will allow the students to safely and neatly store their supplies while not using them.
These supplies will allow the flexiblilty of collaborative learning.
We also have class meetings throughout the day to learn important concepts. The rug will allow us a more structured and comfortable learning place.
