My students need benches that are durable and bird feeders with bird feed so they can observe and learn about nature in our garden area.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Why try to explain miracles to your kids when you can just have them plant a garden" -Robert Brault. I am a math coach at a Title I school in South Florida. All of the students at my school qualify for free breakfast and lunch and many of them are English Language Learners.
Most of the students have never had the responsibility of caring for and using a garden.
The students at my school go home to houses lacking in the resources they need to help them succeed. Having a garden area that welcomes learning would inspire students to grow their skills in ways they never knew existed.
My Project
My school has had an outdoor garden area for teachers to utilize as an outdoor classroom. Over the past year the benches and seating have become unusable due to wear and tear of weather and time. We are in desperate need of benches, allowing this garden area to once again be a outdoor learning space for teachers to bring their students.
Having seating and bird feeders would bring the garden area of our school to life again.
Please help make this outdoor space one that students and teachers love to visit again. An area where they can learn, do investigations and take observations, or just sit and read.
