My students come from all walks of life. I have a great deal of diversity in my classroom. My students are unique and special. Some of my students are in foster families, while some are homeless. Some students have divorced parents or come from single-parent households. While other kids are developmentally challenged. Each student has his/her own different background. Our school has nearly 70% of the student population coming from low income families.
Even with all of these daily challenges my students come to school eager to learn with smiles on their faces.
They love having the chance to use their creativity and energy to learn each and every day. I encourage team building at the beginning of the school year and it creates a fun learning experience that is extended throughout the year. I try to create a fun learning environment so that each student feels at home and comfortable. This gives them the chance to be themselves and be the best that they can be!!!
My Project
The students will be able to use the flexible seating like the wobbly chairs and cushions to help them be active while learning. The cushions will be used for my students to sit on the hard floor while they are working. Some of my students have a hard time sitting still so this is a great way for them to move as well to learn. The rechargeable power pack will help run the We Do System without using up all the batteries. The replacement pieces for the Legos will help when we need more Legos to make the different types of robots.
My students that I have this year are eager to help each other and are willing to try new things.
I know they will enjoying using these items to better understand how simple machines work. It is hard pulling them away from hands on activities and I know they will really enjoying using the We Do System.
