As a teacher in a low-income school district, I recognize that my students are faced with challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to encourage their learning experiences in the classroom.
Fifth graders are still fun, fabulous, and fantastic!
Learning is what we are all about. Our fifth graders are eager to learn but face challenges with remaining focused without appropriate movement. The connection and happiness as students learn are thrilling to see as a teacher. Our little learning Hornets are top-notch students and are embracing the rigorous tasks set before them.
My Project
My students would greatly benefit from the use of a comfortable futon. I like to offer alternative seating options and know my students would love to have a futon as a comfortable way of learning.
Having the ability to have flexible seating creates an environment of comfortable, yet structured learning.
Our classroom ranges from desks to tables, stools to ball seating, and any other flexible choice that is safe and conducive for learning. Students will share learning experiences with this flexible seating tool. It will help give our classroom a feeling like home. What a great place it would be to just sit back and read!
