Sis! Boom! Bah! Providing Flexible Seating for Elementary School Students
My students need flexible seating! There are studies that show that students who are given the choice to sit on a Flex-Space Balance Ball and a Wobble Chair will attend to lessons much better!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a class of 5th grade students in a fairly large school district in Merced, California, a city located in California's Central Valley. The majority of the students at my school are from low-income families. Of the more than half of my students who are English Language Learners, most are Intermediate to Early Advanced ability.
Students are engaged in active learning with an emphasis on the Common Core State Standards as the guideline for the core subjects (ELA, math).
My Project
The use of the Wobble Chairs as alternative seating in the classroom allows for students to make choices and to have a viable way of approaching the learning that will occur during the day. I will be exchanging these Wobble Chairs for six of the traditional chairs in my classroom.
These chairs, in addition to the Balance Ball Seats, will be used so students can move around, sit where they choose, and have some options.
I will use these Wobble Chairs during the students' Chromebook time, as well as when students are having math centers.
The wobble stools will provide that extra touch that some students need: if students can do a small amount of "moving around" while they are accomplishing tasks, reading, writing an essay, completing an assignment, they will have much more success!
