This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 7th graders are always eager to learn. They are full of questions and knowledge. They are all sweet and helpful, even if they try to hide it from everyone around them. Every student in my class is unique, and I want them to always own that. In my classroom, I try to build a relationship with each and every one of my students.
In this room, I see authors, doctors, lawyers, pro athletes, artists, and so much more.
They need the chance to express themselves and grow as learners. I want to be able to give my students the resources and encouragement that they need to excel in life. I want all of my students to be life-long readers with the "just one more chapter" mindset.
My Project
All of us have a book series that we loved and read from beginning to end. For me, this series is Harry Potter. I am thrilled to be able to read the first of the series in class with my students. Our class is filled with readers, and I want to read a novel that will excite them as much as it excites me. Every book in my possession is treated with love and care, and I teach my students to do the same.
I want my students to find themselves in a world that they can only get to through reading.
This Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone book set for each of my students will enhance comprehension and teach them fluency. I hope by reading this, my students learn to love reading and start to read more independently.
