My Students
What can I tell you about my students? First off, they are truly amazing and inquisitive. They have welcomed me to their school and humble me with their curiosity and humanity. Each day they make me feel at home by stopping by the library to visit, listen to books, make crafts, and explore all the library has to offer!
Our school's theme is that of exploration and innovation and the students I work with are ready for the world of discovery and imagination.
I am proud to be their librarian and want to give them a rich and thought-provoking collection of books.
My Project
Reading current and factual biographies is a must for any student. The Who Is?/Who Was? series captures the imaginations and curiosity of young people.
It is important that our elementary and middle school students know the leaders, discoverers, artists, and writers that have shaped and continue to shape our global community - and biographies do that wonderfully.
The Common Core instructs teachers to incorporate more non-fiction in their units and lessons and as a Library Media Specialist, I know how important research is as students journey towards high school. Many of our biographies were too old and full of misinformation. Bringing in factual and interesting biographies will be an asset to our teachers and students.
