Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are full of energy and curiosity! They are five and six year olds who come to school excited to learn. I try to make learning fun and engaging as they learn through play. For some of my students kindergarten is their first school experience which means that they come with different skills and abilities.
I believe that every child can learn at their own developmental pace.
My goal as their teacher is to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences in a positive and safe environment.
My Project
I'm requesting a collection of all-time favorite tunes! My students will sing along to good morning songs and classic nursery rhymes. This huge collection of 20 CDs features 250 songs that will get them moving, singing and learning.
The sing along and read along collection includes stories that are perfect for developing early literacy skills.
My students will master rhyming sounds as they match word tiles to houses that include picture clues that will help them identify the rhyming sound. When they are done, they can open the magnetic roof to take out the tiles and check their answers against the words printed on back. The photo library will boost vocabulary, print awareness and early language skills. They will use them during circle time and also during independent exploration.
