Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Kindergarten babies cannot sit still for a long period of time, unless something has caught their attention. For my class, I want to be able to catch their attention and make them all readers before leaving kindergarten.

I work in a very small, very low income school.

My students always come to school eager to learn new things and they are always filled with joy and energy. They are also some of the most appreciative people I have ever known. They make me feel so proud to be a part of their lives because I know they will do something great in the future.

My Project

The kit that I am requesting will allow my students to learn the letters of the alphabet, their sounds, and be able to write the letters in very fun songs and rhymes. My students will benefit from this as they progress quickly with their knowledge of letters and sounds and will be able to pick up reading skills in no time. This kit includes sets for students to keep up with their own progress as well as games for students to do in small groups and reinforcement activities for other students.

Your donations to my project will not only improve my classroom, but surrounding classes as my students take off in becoming better readers.

My students will quickly gain confidence and will want to be great readers which will help them throughout their schooling years.
