Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My children want to understand everything! I have spent many a weekend doing research because a child asked a great question I couldn't readily answer. My favorite thing about my children is their willingness to participate in their education.
My children rise above poverty every day.
They are excited when they see a new DonorsChoose shipment. When materials for my first project arrived, my children immediately asked to write thank you notes. You make a big difference in their lives and they are always grateful.
My Project
I am requesting thirteen books to start our music classroom library. The books are part of a special collection called song tales. The text is designed to be sung instead of read aloud. These books were made for the music classroom.
This project is special because song tales involve natural settings and animals.
I'm in an urban environment so my students are not familiar with all the animals in the books. This is an opportunity to introduce cross-curricular concepts in music class.
Currently, our classroom has no books. This is tragic because my students love being read to in other settings around campus. My reluctant singers will be more comfortable with a book, and they will all love learning about new animals. Thank you for helping me reach my students.
