The Singing Brothers were established in August 2017 at MESSA, Jonesboro, Georgia. This high school group serves as an extra-curricular organization that seeks to provide male students enrolled in instrumental, vocal music, theatre, and visual arts courses with the opportunity to experience brotherhood, team building, and enhanced musicianship through choral music performance.
The members of the Singing Brothers strive daily to demonstrate academic achievement, discipline, and excellence through their performance.
The group’s motto is “I Am My Brother’s Keeper”. Members of this group have performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Spivey Hall, and participated in GMEA All-State Chorus and GMEA All-State Reading Chorus. Additional accomplishments include performing with the Peach State Opera Company and being selected as finalists for the Georgia Governors Honors Program. Group members were recently selected as the first place 2018 winners of the quartet and solo division at the Georgia High School Athletic Associations Literary State Championship.
Since its inception, the group has performed for major events in the Atlanta Metropolitan area and throughout Georgia. Their debut performance was at the MESSA Winter Chorus Concert on December 5, 2017, at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center in Jonesboro, Georgia. Following their debut, they have been in popular demand.
Most recently, the Singing Brothers were selected by a national team of choral music adjudicators to be the opening performance for this year’s Keynote Session at the National Association for Music Education's National Conference (NAfME) in Dallas, Texas.
This performance and travel experience will provide them with a national platform to showcase their talent and to show that great things are happening in our county schools!
