Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our elementary school is located in a rural small town in Texas. Our school serves 506 students in grades 2, 3 and 4. 85% of the children in our school receive free or reduced lunch because they come from low income homes.
Research shows that learning basic skills with music instruments can trancend into a higher degree of understanding and learning in math and science. The children of our school and community never have the opportunity to buy or play a musical instrument - we want to make these dreams come true!
We are requesting musical recorders for each student. These recorders are designed for the elementary general music class, they include an introduction to recorder playing in combination with the expected awesome experience in singing, dancing, and playing percussion instruments. The recorder is used as an integral part of the total music program and is excellent for use individually or with beginning recorder methods.
The recorders we are requesting are economy-priced, one-piece soprano recorder that's much more than just the bare bones. The Giardinelli Soprano Recorder comes with plastic carrying bag, cleaning rod, and fingering chart.
Your donation helps to restore the faith that generosity and the appreciation of public education is still present in our world.
Thank you for bettering the lives of children.
