This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten students are very excitable. We spend our days learning to read, write, and count, but also how to love, respect, and share. We work together on phonics, reading, writing, math, science, and social studies daily. We are going to master reading as well as achieve dreams!
We cherish our memorable moments, such as hands-on experiences and edible experiments.
I am not afraid to laugh or be laughed at and this connection of laughter keeps us close. The chikdren truly live to learn and can make an adventure of mostly anything!
My students are in an area that needs a lot of attention. The children need the effort, the love, and the opportunity to succeed in the most imaginable way ever!
My Project
My students are good kids, and sometimes I wish my pockets ran deeper than they do just so I could help them. I oftentimes spend more on them than my own children, because I understand that my class lives in a community that desperately needs some assistance.
The students need things to be successful in class such as healthy snacks to keep them going and pencils and colorful paper.
We have snack time written into the schedule, but so many open up their book bag to nothing.
I try and supply things for them, but too often do we run out so quickly.
I look forward to the days that my children come back to me with that big ol' smile on their face and simply say thank you with the genuine understanding behind it.
