Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are kindergartners. The students in my class come from a variety of backgrounds. My classroom is multicultural, and often I have students that are English Language Learners. Every day, the kindergarten students arrive in the classroom with an eagerness and enthusiasm to learn.
Our classroom is a busy, child-centered learning environment.
It is stimulating, colorful, and comfortable. Our classroom is a community. It is our home away from home.
We function as a whole group, small groups, and as individuals. We are cooperative and collaborative. We share our materials, our discoveries, and our experiences. We respect one another and ourselves.
Sometimes our classroom is loud; sometimes our classroom is quiet. Sometimes only the teacher is speaking and everyone is practicing their listening. Often the children are talking to one another and the teacher is facilitating.
Every day, we draw on what we already know and have learned. Every day, there are opportunities for the children to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally. Every day, something fun happens. Every day is a new beginning!
My Project
I have used seat sacks for the last 5 years. After 5 years of washing them, and everyday use from the students, they are no longer usable. Each child has their own seat sack to store their notebooks, workbooks, folders, and other belongings. The students are seated in groups of 6 at tables with chairs. Each child has their own seat sack for their chair.
These seat sacks provide easy access for the students' materials throughout the day.
This allows students to stay focused on their learning and allows me as the teacher to effectively manage the kindergarten lesson.
They deserve the best in every aspect of life, especially in their education. Help me to help them achieve their best by partnering with me to get them these needed items for our classroom. You will be helping this class of students and many more students to come. Thanks in advance for your generous support!
