My students need these basic supplies to ensure success within the classroom. Pencils, pens, highlighters and wipe board markers are the tools needed to access curriculum. I will share them with the school as well!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have been identified with special needs and are participating in a full inclusion program with their typically developing peers. They are motivated and caring. They will benefit from any support a donation could offer.
My students live in a low income area with over eighty percent qualifying for free lunch.
Most students have relocated from other countries and are learning English as a second language. As the second teacher in the room, I feel responsible to help all students including those with disabilities and those without disabilities.
My Project
Very simply stated, these supplies will help my students complete their work. Many look for writing utensils when they first walk into school or a classroom. Some teachers have even set up a system to provide such supplies. There are those who refuse. It is during this time I provide the supplies because without them, there is no hope for participation. The pens and pencils will be used for daily activities. The wipe board markers in multiple colors will be used to keep lessons novel and can be used on mini wipe boards or even the surfaces of desks to keep students interested. The pens can be used for writing assignments and white out during proof reading.
We are always looking for writing utensils and coming back from vacation yesterday proved this as my supplies were wiped out within a few periods!
Many teachers pay out of pocket for materials but I have been lucky enough to benefit from multiple projects being funded through Donors Choose.
My principal received a congratulatory fax for my last project and was asking me about the program. When I explained it, he was very impressed and asked for the basics such as writing utensils. I told him I would post a project so here we are!
