Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are thirsty for learning. They want to know everything about everything. They explore any and everything they come in contact with. They aspire to be the best students possible.

We are a Title I school nestled in one of the smallest counties in Georgia.

Many students receive free and reduced lunch and cannot afford many supplies that are needed to complete projects during their learning. Despite the lack of supplies, my students are very high achievers! They are taught using project based lessons where they create and design things based on real life situations.

My Project

My students learn through project based learning lessons. Students store their work in prong folders for safe keeping. They need construction paper to craft and build their projects. For example, students are building a playground and need measuring tapes to design the playground and build it to scale. Hot glue and pencils are a critical part to all student work. Thermal pockets are used to display student work on presentation day, when the public is invited to view the end products.

Because my students are project based learners, ALL of their hard work drives them to produce real life "end products" that are shared with the public.

We are in need of simple sustainable supplies to help us with project based learning success!
