My students need a variety of different things to get the school year started. These things range from cleaning supplies, to help keep germs away, to materials to help use their devices better.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher, in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Being in a low-income school, special education students tend to be overlooked. My students are overlooked a lot because of how low functioning they are.
I am a multiple disabilities support teacher for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 grade; however, these children are at a functional level of an infant to 3-year-old age range.
My students have many different physical and mental needs. I just want to give them the best chance they can have, when it comes to learning and growing.
My Project
These materials are going to help my students by allowing them to stay health and learn. The cleaning supplies are to help my medically fragile students stay healthy. These students are prone to picking up germs easier then others. The extra cleaning supplies will allow us to be able to wipe things down more often.
We are in need of many things to help my students with disabilities have a healthy and successful school year.
One of these things are batteries for the many devices in our classroom that requirer batteries to run. We are also asking for photo printing sheets to use with our sprocket to have picture labels for the students to know where to put materials away at.
