I teach a class of enthusiastic second-graders. My students attend a public school which is the second largest district and one of the fastest growing in the state. Our classroom environment considers the diverse needs of students, some with special needs that require implementation of additional strategies to be successful. My students enjoy using a variety of tools and participating in hands-on activities that consider their needs and address their different learning styles. Students take ownership in their learning and enjoy opportunities to explore and discover new things while applying what they learn. They are constantly asking questions and seeking answers to define the world around them.
My Project
These science materials will provide my students with hands-on tools to better understand measurement, astronomy, problem solving and more!
Students will be excited and engaged to use these new resources and make connections which allow them to have the "ah-ha" moments.
They will enjoy using the space puzzle to better understand planets in our solar system and the ant farm will allow students additional opportunities to observe animal habitats and behaviors. The I Can Science kits will provide students with self-guided practice in conducting their own experiments to question the world around them.
These materials will not only enhance student learning, but will make learning fun and relevant to the world in which we live.
