Simple and Quick Circuit to Promote Environmental Learning
My students need a lithium coin cell, binder clips, card stock, sandwich bags, diodes, copper foil tape, sandwich bags, safety pens, and a project board in order to create a paper circuit.
My students are energetic, passionate, competitive, and fabulous elementary students. They share a love of learning and are always encouraging each other to do their absolute best. My students enjoy working together and growing as learners. My students enjoy learning through movement and building things.
We live in a rural area in Western North Carolina.
Our county has a very low income. The poverty rate at our school is high, with a large portion of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
My students needs a lithium coin cell, diodes, and copper foil tape in order to create a simple and quick circuit. Students will be brainstorming circuits that will be beneficial to our environment and will help arrive at a solution to solve an environmental problem.
Students will connect the diode to the battery with conductive tape and the power from the battery will flow through the diode, causing it to shine.
This project will allow students not only to think of their environmental impact, but to brainstorm how power flows.
Students will need binder clips, card stock, sandwich bags, and safety pens in order to pre-package the circuits in order to present to different grade levels. Students will package these items themselves.
Students will need two project boards in order to present their findings from the environmental issue that they researched and the conclusion of how a circuit is successful.
