Help me give my students an opportunity to express themselves through creative design and self expression.

I work with a wonderful new social and emotional behavioral project called Discipline with Dignity. Through this program we have the pleasure of working one on one with a fantastic group of students that have some challenges to overcome but who are more then willing to come and get knowledge of self regulation and proper classroom behavior.
Our children are amazing and gifted children who often times need help to regulate themselves and their behavior and who have been through trauma whether that be in school or in the home.
These students are the ones who need special care and attention and who need us the most to get through the challenges of life.
In DWD, we help students gain knowledge of their brain and how their brains work. They learn the tools necessary to effectively maintain their behavior in and out of the classroom. Through this process, they learn how to utilize trauma informed practices.
DWD is a flexible program for effective school and classroom management that teaches responsible thinking, cooperation, and shared decision-making. Our program helps teachers and students learn how to build relationships, responsibility and respect in their classroom.
My school district is one of the most diverse districts in the state of Missouri. We serve about seven hundred and fifty students in sixth through eighth grade and provide rigorous academics, dedicated teachers and a safe learning environment for students of many different ethnic groups, backgrounds, cultures and socioeconomic levels.
With the school being extremely diverse there are also children who suffer with social and emotional issues, in a Title One school where around ninety percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and need additional resources to be successful.
Many of our students experience trauma and/or homelessness. Because of this, I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, homey learning environment for all my students. By doing so, I hope to inspire the students to come to school each day ready to learn and start fresh.
In my classroom, I focus on positive rewards and motivation. My students will be able to earn rewards using the Cameo 3. As incentives, students who have worked hard, can earn the chance to personalize items by designing on the Cameo.
Technology is always a way to get students engaged, and Cameo supplies will allow another form of technology to be integrated in our classroom.
Having access to these materials will also help engage their creative side, further preparing them for their future.
Students will be able to design and make their own t-shirts with heat transfer vinyls; personalize their clipboards, cups and a variety of other items using the various vinyl sheets. We will also use the Cameo to make our projects, visual aids, anchor charts and notebooks more artistic
