This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Spanish students are some of the most fun students to work with. I serve 150 9th-12th graders at Skyline HS in Oakland, CA. These students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, races, some speak 2 languages already and Spanish is their 3rd language. They all try so hard and do their best to speak a new language. I also teach Spanish Honors, so they work extra hard to go that extra mile.

My Project

With these headphones students can hear music, videos, lessons and more. Our current curriculum allows students to hear native speakers in various realistic situations. In addition they are noise canclling so that they can listen without distraction. Not all students have access to personal headphones and these can close that resource gap.

More magical than ever, when students can hear a language being spoken they can learn Spanish faster.

The new headphones, which can be sanitized after each use, will deliver the wireless headphone experience, reimagined. Just pull them out of the case and they’re ready to use for students. These are also molded to the ear and cancel out unwanted noise.
