Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students surprise me each and every day. Being a second-year teacher, my eyes have been open to the reality of their lives. My kids and I have developed a relationship where they can confide in me without a problem. They have stability with me, which is something they need the most. They know when they come to school every day that they are safe and loved. They get up each and every morning with a smile on their face, knowing I will be there to welcome them. Despite all their other troubles, they still have that passion and drive to learn.
My Project
My students and I have created a learning climate that is loving, respectful, and willing. In my classroom, we are a family. My students need proper resources in order to reach their goals and be successful.
The students need headphones so that all of them can have individual equipment to work with when concentrating on their tasks.
The new ones we ordered at the beginning of the year are already breaking due to low-quality and low funding. Our students are required to be on technology at least 20 minutes a day. Without headphones, the students and I cannot concentrate on the task at hand.
