Help me give my students the opportunity to make products, learn skills, and invest in their future by using the Cricut Explore Air 2 and the tools that go along with it.
My incredible students are students that need extensive transition opportunities in order to make their high school experience relevant for life outside of high school.
Not all students fit into the typical model that high schools offer, and all students deserve an education that meets their needs.
In order to do this, we have created a Community Based Instruction class where the students take trips out into their community to practice, in a meaningful way, the skills they will need to be independent members of their community after high school.
My Project
A growing trend in shops everywhere is the simple print messages. These messages on t-shirts, signs, coffee mugs, window decals, are a fun way to share an inspirational message or word. In our class I strive to provide my students with real-world activities to learn skills. What better way to learn financial literacy than to create a business where we sell goods to customers.
I want to help my students develop their creativity, belief in their abilities, and teach them that with a little inspiration and a lot of hard work they can create anything they set their mind to.
With these materials we can practice what we learn. Students can learn by doing. I can't think of a more meaningful way to teach and enforce the very important skills involved with financial literacy while simultaneously incorporating a host of necessary transition skills.
