I love where I work. Not only do we have a wonderful staff, but the students are also simply amazing. The students love to try new things and explore. They always give their best and work very hard. I am so very proud of my students.
At my school, 100% of students receive a free breakfast and lunch.
They come to school and eat breakfast. This helps them to be focused for the day ahead of them. They work so hard for me, and I want to create an environment that reflects the hard work they put in while at school by providing them with a fun and engaging space to learn.
My Project
First grade is an important time for students to learn their sight words! A great way for students to learn their sight words is through sensory activities. Students can practice writing their letters in the sand through the use of sand trays! The sand trays will be used in small group and individual work time!
Students love to learn in different ways!
Instead of having the students always write their words, students will be able to spell the word in their sand trays first. Kinetic sand is also a fun way to learn sight words. This sand is great because it never dries out!
