My Students

All children can learn regardless of life's circumstances if only given the chance and opportunity to flourish and succeed!

My kindergartners are an inspiring and resilient group of children who come from very at-risk environments, poverty, and broken homes.

They are funny, amazing, hardworking, creative children who come to school with the biggest smiles on their face. They are also thirsty for knowledge and love being at school. They are the reason why I love teaching! It's an inspiration to know them!

My Project

My students struggle with reading readiness skills. When they begin kindergarten, most are behind their peers in other affluent schools. Many economic factors contribute to this issue. One of their biggest challenge is learning sight words.

These sight word games, puzzles and the visual sight word cards will be of tremendous help in teaching these resilient children to read.

If students have these tools, then reading and learning becomes fun and engaging. This is the key to success with very young children. The materials will make them want to come to the table and read. When it is fun, it is retained and learned.
