This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting sight word flash cards for my struggling readers to work on in class, and for parents to work with their children at home. Each year I get students entering grade 2 who don't know their basic sight words. This can make reading frustrating as they are spending too much time trying to read words that make up 75 percent of what they read daily. Many times parents aren't sure how they can help at home. Sending these home, as well as showing parents how to utilize them with children at home will benefit my students enormously.
